Meet the Staff

Carolyn RBT

Bio: I started out working in a school with children who had disabilities. From there I learned about ABA therapy and how it is used to help those with autism.

A short while later I became certified as an RBT and began working as a therapist. Seeing the difference consistent ABA therapy makes for children and their families is extremely rewarding. In my free time I enjoy being outdoors (hiking in the mountains, skydiving, white water rafting, zip lining) and spending time with my family and friends.

“It takes a child with Autism to raise the consciousness of the village” My 18 yr old son was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 2.He inspired me to further my

He inspired me to further my education and earn my first M.Ed in multi-categorical special education. I’ve been teaching special education students now for over 15 years but never had the opportunity to work with children on the spectrum similar to my son until joining the Howard family. Upon the conclusion of my school day, I’ve been working at Howard for the past two years as an RBT. It feelsreally nice to be able to say that I serve as an advocate for children with diverse needs in my home, in the school system and in the clinical setting too.

Robyn

Board-Certified Behavior Analyst, Clinical Director Howard Intervention Center

I have been working in the field of ABA for 5 years, I became interested in the field of psychology during high school while witnessing the mental health struggles of a very close family member. I pursued a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Benedictine University and went on to obtain a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology from the same institution, it was during that time that I was introduced to ABA. My career thus far has helped me provide extensive experience conducting functional behavior assessments as well as developing skill acquisition programs and behavior intervention plans for severe problem behavior. I am passionate about my work and my career is most rewarding when I personally witness my clients reach a higher potential. The smiles on each parents’ face helps to seal the deal.

Carrie BCBA

My name is Carrie. I have had my RBT for two years, and I’ve been in the field for 10 years.

I myself have ASD, which I believe has helped my compassion and understanding as an RBT.

I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Purdue, and I’m in the process of working on my ABA therapy license (BCBA), as well as my “talk” therapy license (LMHC).

Cara Wilson BHS, MSED, MA.Ed

President, CEO Howard Intervention Center

Cara is the creator and co-founder of Howard Intervention Center.

Her career in special education spans over 25 years. Cara began her career in education as a substitute teacher and teachersaide, she found her passion in working with children having varying disabilities. Cara earned a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders and continued her work with children as a bi-lingual speech therapist for several years in many local school districts. She went on to receive her master’s degree in special education as well as a Master of Arts degree in education. After she had been working as an RBT for 3 years her own son received an autism diagnosis. This was no surprise to her because she had seen symptoms very early on. The doctors were hesitant to make a diagnosis. Once the diagnosis of autism was received the very first thing Cara did was enroll her son in ABA therapy. She had witnessed its “amazing” results in so many children. She was extremely impressed with the therapy itself. Not so much with the companies. Having worked for them as well as enrolled her own child, she felt the agencies with which she had experience lacked passion. She needed a program that loves her child, that truly cares about his growth and well-being. SoHoward was created. At Howard Intervention Center your child matters. Today as the CEO of HIC, Cara continues to build the program of “our dreams”. This is not just her career. This is her life!!
